I so loved this book, the best read for such a long time.... filled me with hope, joy, tears and memories of how I felt when I was young and hopefully how I will feel when I get old.
The Lido had some interesting parts and sections that just lagged. The story became predictable. The book was not bad, it just wasn’t great.
If your looking for a light read with satisfying beginning,middle and end then this is for you. Fast read and a great feel good read.
I liked the Lido. Great, well developed characters & some very funny lines. Kind of Seinfeldish in that a nice story is written about a simple premise.
For anyone who has felt alone or lost hope, The Lido is an inspiring story of what happens when you take risks, are willing to be seen and to receive assistance for things that are important to you.
I really enjoyed this story...maybe because at the time I read it I was relocating my elderly parents into an apartment with a view of a swimming pool! This is an easy read, but very well written with sweet characters and a straight forward plot.
This book is rather like a good Hallmark movie, characters you can like and care about and an ending you can feel good about- even though it was predictable (and that was ok). Enjoyed the warmth in the characters and the relationship between Rosemary and Kate.
