The Anomaly Michael Rutger Books
After all the hype, I was sorely disappointed. The story relies too heavily in Deus est Machina and fortuitous discoveries that suddenly fix an immediate problem. This is an entertaining and quick read, but the way the situations are resolved seem more like lazy writing.Tags : Amazon.com: The Anomaly (9781538761854): Michael Rutger: Books,Michael Rutger,The Anomaly,Grand Central Publishing,1538761858,Action & Adventure,Thrillers - Psychological,Thrillers - Suspense,Archaeologists,Archaeologists;Fiction.,Caves,FICTION Action & Adventure.,FICTION Suspense,FICTION Suspense.,Grand Canyon (Ariz.),Survival,Suspense fiction,Thrillers (Fiction),AMERICAN MYSTERY & SUSPENSE FICTION,Arizona,FICTION Action & Adventure,FICTION Fairy Tales, Folk Tales, Legends & Mythology,FICTION Thrillers Psychological,FICTION Thrillers Suspense,Fiction,Fiction-ActionAdventure,FictionAction & Adventure,FictionFairy Tales, Folk Tales, Legends & Mythology,FictionThrillers - Psychological,GENERAL,General Adult,Grand Canyon (Ariz.),Indiana Jones; x files; conspiracy theories; nolan moore; archeology; grand canyon; Kincaid's cave; The Martian; andy weir; the anomaly files,Indiana Jones; x files; conspiracy theories; nolan moore; archeology; grand canyon; Kincaid's cave; The Martian; andy weir; the anomaly files;,MysterySuspense,Survival,Suspense fiction,Thrillers (Fiction),Thrillers - Psychological,Thrillers - Suspense,United States,FICTION Action & Adventure,FICTION Fairy Tales, Folk Tales, Legends & Mythology,FICTION Thrillers Psychological,FICTION Thrillers Suspense,FictionAction & Adventure,FictionFairy Tales, Folk Tales, Legends & Mythology,FictionThrillers - Psychological,Fiction,MysterySuspense
The Anomaly Michael Rutger Books Reviews
I couldn't put it down. Loved the characters, the plot twists, and the accurate research on historical legends and events was impressive.
Read it in one day
In the off times my wife and I watch a program about an ancient civilization, we love to mock the story line. This is because the writers are so very certain about things they can only speculate about. Oh, sure, they use phrases like, "it seems that," or, " they may have..." and "it might be." But the attitude is, "We've got this figured out. Just sit back and learn." Apparently a Hollywood screen writer has noticed the same thing. Michael Rutger did something about it. He wrote a very chilling story about one of these program producers who found what he was looking for and who had no need of weasel phrases. Turns out there ARE things that go bump in the dark. Bad things. That was the best part of "The Anomaly." I gave it four stars due to all the vulgar language. Note to Hollywood those of us in fly-over country do not swear as much as you folks do. Stop trying to "be like us" because we're not like that. The story did not benefit from the language. With that exception, it was tightly written and was hard to put down.
It was much better. The.characters we're well-drawn, the dialogue crisp and sharp, and the events realistic enough.
Not one of those pursuit-a-minute thrillers that leave you exhausted, but time enough to build character and plot.
The relationships between characters was intense and quite realistic for those in the filming industry.
I enjoyed the book, got pretty claustrophobic at one point, and do recommend it.
This is a book that started really well. The adventure in itself, the characters and the description of the setting were absorbing enough. It is everybody's nightmare, I believe, to be stuck anywhere, but somewhere nobody knows you are? That was creepy. I'd read for a couple of hours and I was ready to go to sleep when the sphere rolled. That was it for me sleeping. I guess you'll have to read it to know what sphere I'm talking about, but I don't like spoilers. The language is beautiful, the story is so interesting that you feel you have to finish it, dreading, at the same time, the minute it will be over. I'll have to re-read it soon, given the speed at which I devoured it. Loved it.
I liked this book, it was fun and suspensful. The story line was great and the characters were good. It was defintely readable and held my attention through out. I read everything, I love to read just for the sake of reading. I also read the reviews of everything I read, and the reviews for this book stink. People are such hypocritical nit wits, they think they can bash a story because its not literary genius. This book is not bad at all. I found everything the majority of negative reviewers said about this story was nonsense. It really is good, the story line is great and it gives an alternate theory to history as we know it. Thoroughly enjoyed and I'm glad I gave it a chance!
I wasn't expecting something other than an amusing beach read, but this actually had excellent plotting, good character development, an original storyline and a fairly good ending. The actual writing is like JK Rowling or Patterson or the usual mass market paperback novel writer - passable but not dazzling. There are some portions that I think are very good. Overall, this is a very suspenseful story with an original plot. Kudos to the author and I expect this to be made into a movie at some point.
I was looking for a book to end a two week reading dry streak. I could not find anything that held my attention. I heard about The Anomaly from several sources and when it came out on Tuesday, I started to read. The book kept me on the edge almost every moment. Action from the beginning and I could not predict the ending. I highly recommend of you like adventure, sci-fi and action. It could make a good movie and leaves the door open for a sequel.
After all the hype, I was sorely disappointed. The story relies too heavily in Deus est Machina and fortuitous discoveries that suddenly fix an immediate problem. This is an entertaining and quick read, but the way the situations are resolved seem more like lazy writing.
